Internship: Landscape technician
A message from Tee Time Landscaping & Lawn Care’s owner/operator Trevor Parker:
Tee Time Landscaping and Lawn Care was started in 2020 in Howard County Maryland by me, with help from my brothers and friends. We started out by cutting grass and doing small yard clean ups, then expanded into mulching, planting, and snow removal. Year after year, we would purchase a couple pieces of equipment and add some new properties to add to our CRM (client relations manager). Starting with pen and paper, then graduating to Jobber, we eventually landed on LMN (landscape management software) by Granum. LMN is what runs the company today and handles our estimating, billing, and budget. We can also build SOP’s, client/ property notes, and templates for jobs. Today we are a team of 4, servicing 80 lawns in the Howard, Carroll, and Baltimore County areas on a weekly basis for lawn care, and we provide mulching and clean ups to 50% of them and other services like fertilization/weed control, fall clean ups, landscape design projects and hardscaping. Looking to the future, we plan to install irrigation and provide tree service needs. We have completed many projects over the years and are looking to expand greatly in the next few years. Business is about having a plan and executing it, although it may not work out the first time, trying and getting it right is what it is about. We are always trying to implement latest practices, new equipment, and focus on teamwork! We also offer commercial snow removal and work with other contractors in a subcontractor capacity. We are licensed in Maryland home improvement, weed control and fertilization, and are striving to obtain an arborist certificate and Maryland tree expert license. Most importantly, we take safety seriously and are committed to seeing that everyone who works with us gets home safely to their families.
We are looking to hire a driven individual that is looking to get boots on the ground in the industry. We are a smaller outfit that mimics a large one. We work 7a.m- 3/5p.m Monday- Friday. This position is great for someone interested in perhaps starting their own company, someone who is looking to see aspects of a small business, such as how a crew is dispatched/ handled, how client needs are handled, and how to create a schedule route for a crew as well as the opportunity for selling jobs and planning projects. We are looking to teach what it takes to get to the point we have reached as well as sharing the blueprint we will follow to expand and to grow. We service much of the equipment and vehicles in-house as well as maintain them at our shop. There is the opportunity to learn multiple aspects of the business with a company of our size because we can provide one-on-one and hands-on experience to our team members so they can fully learn the skill. A hard work ethic will be ideal as some days are longer than others and you can’t plan everyday perfectly as unknowns do occur. The qualified candidate will be hardworking, have good inter-personal skills, and be willing to follow instructions.
Under the direction of owner/operator Trevor Parker, the landscape technician will do the following:
• Lawn mowing: How to mow a lawn, how to maintain a mower, when not to cut grass, what height per species, and learn about best practices
• Landscape enhancements: Planting, mulching, statue installations and pond cleaning
• Grass renovations: Sod installations, aeration and over seeding, fertilization and weed control, organic matter incorporation
• Sales, design, client management, and employee management
The landscape technician will be hired for approximately 40 hours per week between the months of May until mid-August (precise start date is negotiable) for a total of 320 hours.
Work hours will be from 7:00 a.m. to 3p.m./5p.m.daily.
Rate of pay: $18.00 per hour.
To apply, please send a cover letter and resume to Trevor Parker trevor@teetimeandscaping.com
